Interest and Activities

Most recently I worked on a mural project for NMSU Grants. I worked with one of my drawing class students to start the mural by graphing it on the wall.  I showed students how to transfer an image using a traditional graphing technique. Once students graphed a portion of the image, I continued to work on it and completed it in the summer of 2017.  The mural is one of the largest mural projects I have worked on.  It is 27 feet wide by 8 feet tall.  The mural is located in the Writing Center room on the NMSU Grants campus.  I have also worked on other mural projects in Iowa for two Mexican restaurants.  Each of those mural projects have involved recreating famous works by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. I worked on the Frida Kahlo murals in 2014 and on the Diego Rivera murals in 2005.

I showed work at Gabriel’s Gallery just outside of Santa Fe. They have sold several works of art that I created, but unfortunately they closed down.

In the Spring of 2008 I displayed recent art work at the Fiesta de Colores Art Festival in Grants, NM. I also participated in several dance performances on the NMSU Grants Campus and in the Fiesta de Colores Festival for Spring of 2008 and 2009.

Dancing has been a major part of my life in Iowa, Santa Fe and now here in Grants. I am an avid

Latin Dance fan, taking dance classes, participating in dance performances, and dance

Competitions. My students from my Latin Dance classes and I have performed for Fiesta de Colores in Grants, NM for the Spring celebrations from 2009 to 2013.

In 2009 I competed with a dance partner name Haily Constable, and we won two Latin Dance  competitions at El Farol in Santa Fe, NM

In 2011 I competed with Hailey Constable and we won 2nd place in a Latin Dance competition at  the Santa Fe Convention Center.

I continue to dance at Latin Dance venues and perform when possible.
